My Students

I teach full-day Kindergarten in an Oklahoma school that values learning through the multiple intelligences. The students in my classroom come from a variety of social, academic, and economic backgrounds. In spite of our differences, we are building a classroom community that embraces each member as we grow and develop. It is important to me that children leave with a community that values their own growth and learning, while understanding that we are all better when we learn firsthand from others and their experiences as they impact our own.

My Project

The student mail boxes will give each child an individual place to turn in and store their work. In Kindergarten, some of our work goes home in folders while many pieces are safely kept for their end of the year portfolio for families.

This system will help me create children who are independent in collecting their work to take home. The individual slots will allow children to collect their own work and instill responsibility in making sure the work gets in their folders to take home.
