Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our elementary school has been a staple in our community for over 50 years. It has always been a place where great learning happens. Many of our students have been in the building and together since Kindergarten.

Students here not only learn to be great learners, they learn to be great citizens as well.

I love that my students have a desire to learn. They look at our class as a family, rather than a classroom full of strangers. This class has come a long way in a very short time, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish this year.

My Project

I am requesting a book container and a mailbox for important papers that need to go home. My students will be able to have a more organized classroom if we have book bins and a mailbox where I can put all the students' important papers to go home.

As children do, papers and other important information gets lost easily when it is not easily organized.

And if each student has a book bin that contains their books, it would be easy to let them read when there is free time. Books should be cared for and right now they are just in desks, which can be a dangerous place for such precious commodities!
