This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Welcome into our classroom where we speak Spanish, Burmese, Karen, English and sometimes a little of everything. But you can say our overall language is just love.

Many of our parents need interpreters just to speak to our teacher.

The important piece is the amount of effort we are willing to put in here and now. It is what we want to do with our futures and what we want to become. We are future doctors, lawyers, computer programmers, teachers, and yes . . . even political leaders.

My Project

Do I have your attention? Okay, my kids are definitely not ugly. This is a title of a song written by Lorretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. That's what music and sound does in our classroom. Imagine a classroom of students with English as a second language using quality headphones. Image uninterrupted, focused, attention that will inspire and enrich their learning experience.

The current state of our classroom headphones consists of Dollar Tree headphones, purchased on my dime, for each student.

These headphones usually last through part of the year. The students feel like they have hit the high life when I pass these out at the beginning of the year. "You mean we get to keep these?" they ask with beaming eyes. Now of course these new headphones would stay with our classroom, but imagine how much of an impact you will make.
