I teach a fabulous group of students who are inspiring, motivating, and fun to teach. They are the future readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, computer analysts, engineers, artists, and musicians of the world.
I teach in a large, diverse, K-8, high poverty school, in an urban area of Philadelphia that experiences crime.
Our school receives Title I funding and the entire school is eligible for free breakfast and lunch. The students who come to school eager to learn, are from various living situations such as single parents, foster homes, homeless shelters, multi-generational, or extended family living.
My students have a variety of learning abilities and disabilities including Special Education, ADD, ADHD, vision impairment, and English as a Second Language. I am dedicated to meeting their needs daily, along with building their self-esteem and confidence.
My Project
"Like fighting an addiction, being an antiracist requires persistent self-awareness, constant self-criticism, and regular self-examination." ~ Ibram X. Kendi
My students are the apple of my eye.
I am dedicated to meeting their needs as best I can. I am committed to bridging the digital divide amoungst our students of all colors. This pandemic is really taking a toll on each family in different ways. I need a reliable computer to deliver our daily instruction in our virtual classroom. I have 29 eager faces on our daily Google Meet. With everyone's cameras on in the Meet, my unreliable, older laptop does not perform efficiently with our learning programs. (I have checked my internet connection and our school has not updted our computers in over 6 years) We experience glitches often which interrupts crucIal instructional time. We don't know when we will return to in person learning. We have been remote since March.
We need a reliable laptop to see what we are learning in our virtual Google Meet Classrooms. Can you help us learn more efficiently with an Apple laptop?
