Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a Transitional Kindergarten class full energetic, creative, and inquisitive 4 and 5 year-olds. Our days are very busy with hands-on experiences. They love real-life tasks such as writing notes, drawing illustrations, and delivering mail; but before we can do that, we must learn how to correctly write our letters!
My students come from a diverse background both ethnically and economically.
By this time of year, my students are ready to take on a new challenge. They are ready to discover the joys of writing and publishing their own stories.
My Project
Hands on learning is helpful and very necessary for our young learners. With the gift of your donations, we will be forming words with letter tiles. We will be able to develop a story by using the letter claws to form letters correctly and write sentences. We will use our imagination and learn to be creative. This will be our first step in publishing a story.
My students may only be 5 but with your help, their first experiences with writing will spark a love of learning.
These materials will help us learn while having fun! Thank you for your consideration!
