My Project
We are hoping to create a space for our underrepresented students such as Latino, African Americans, and the LGBTQ community. We currently have clubs for these groups of students but we are hoping we can create an all-inclusive space for them to hold meetings, have talks, or simply enjoy each other's company. The television will be used to watch our creative student-created videos and for stress-free time with other students.
Having a welcoming space can bring comfort and inspire students to learn about themselves and others.
We want our Latino, African American, and LGBTQ students to feel comfortable in a space where they can share ideas, feelings, thoughts, and experiences. While the space will be shared, it will be a space where the students can feel a sense of "ownership" of the space. This space will be a way for all students to feel included with others who may share the same feelings or experiences.
