Help me give my students a brand new set of “I am Malala” books so that my students learn the power of owning your own voice and the impact they can have on the world around them!

My Project
The book “I am Malala” by Malala Yousafazi will be a brand new novel until to my 8th grade ELA curriculum. I want students to explore why a young girl was willing to risk her life for an education. I named this project “Your Own Magic Pencil” because Malala discovered that not only was it her fundamental right to learn it was also her responsibility to let the world know that they could learn too. Students will have the opportunity to discuss and discover more about their own voices.
By exploring the themes of the book, the students will learn that they have something worth fighting for within their minds… the right to learn.
Students will understand that there is no price value that can be placed on learning and that receiving an education is completely in their own control.
