This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hand picked from mainstream elementary schools and are the best of the best. They are chosen to attend this academy because they excel and are always willing to go the extra mile. They are hard working and brilliant young women.

Our young women are exceeding academic expectations and proving all students, regardless of their background or socio-economic status, can excel if given the right opportunity.

Our school has a foundation of STEAM curriculum with a focus on our core values: Responsible Leadership, College and Career Readiness, and Wellness Life Skills

My Project

The extension cords will help to make sure everyone's getting to an outlet to charge their Chromebooks as soon as they walk in. No more waiting around the outlet for a turn. Since this is a computer based class, this is a huge plus. We are used to waiting, or asking to borrow others' extensions cords, and this is unacceptable.

The mini-fridge will benefit the girls in that the room can get very hot, and we can now all store our water bottles in one area and look forward to a cold drink at the end of each class and after school.

Having a refreshment provides for a better learning experience.
