My Project

I have 24 amazing 6th graders who love playing while learning. But due to the pandemic, there were a lot of restrictions that led to having limited activities that make learning fun.

Learning by playing, through hands-on activities and the use of manipulatives, is a great strategy to help students master the skills and competency in science.

As we go toward the end of the school year, I am hoping to still make learning fun through the resources I have requested, as well as to help those students who struggled in math, reading, and science, particularly in experiments and engineering.

I have requested microscopes for kids to explore and experience to see what can’t be seen with the naked eye. I also have requested growing kits for our environmental science topics to teach the kids the importance of taking good care of the environment. These materials will allow my kids to engage and interact with each other and we'll ensure that we still follow the health protocol. These materials are easy to sanitize as well as durable that can be still of use by the next batch of students.

Students learn through hands-on activities and the use of manipulatives. This is a great strategy to help students master their skills in science. We're so excited to use these materials and make learning more fun!
