This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
We have expanded our visual art classes this year to include painting lessons for our primary and junior high school students despite being in a rural, low-income area. First graders are enrolled in dedicated art classes and eighth graders are mixing colors for the first time.
We give over 300 children in our schools an opportunity to paint.
However, we need more paper to carry us through the year. We are requesting Blick watercolor paper because it’s economical and large enough to accommodate two children by dividing one sheet. Our art classes receive no funding so we work hard to provide our young artists the chance to explore art and express self confidence.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mr. Armstrong and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
