My students need sight-word bingo library, counting keys, numbers and letters practice books, measurement center, phonics train, cheese dip game, CVC cubes, flip chart, and puzzles.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from very low-income families. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, which are the only meals that some of my students get during the day. The kindergartners are full of energy and excited about learning.
Some of my students stay after school to get help with their homework and review skills due to their parents working long hours or no one is at home to support their learning.
With extra support and materials to help enhance their learning, I believe that my students will be very successful in the future.
My Project
The students need constant review of letters, numbers and sight words. With the Beginning Sounds phonics train activity, Consonant vowel Consonant word building cards and long letter rods, students will be able to reinforce the letters and sounds to build three/four letter words. After building the words students can play the Cheese Dip Game in a learning station with a partner.
Students will use the Make a Splash 120 counting mat and Count and Links to understand the value of numbers and the organization of numbers.
Students will use the 120 mat as a small group and whole group with the teacher.
