I have 23 enthusiastic learners! These students have captured my heart! They are the sweetest, gentlest, and most thoughtful people I know. Everyday they come to our class ready for the challenge of the day regardless of the challenges presented to them at home. A large number of my students are English Learners and an even larger majority come from disadvantaged backgrounds. When they come to our class they're ready to show me that nothing can hold them back! Keep reaching for the stars!
My Project
I would love to inspire the next generation of meteorologists! Weather is a passion of mine! I love looking up at the sky and learning about the phenomena that interact to create the weather that affects us all.
Weather is all around us and can be truly exciting to observe and measure!
Students will love to learn about weather while measuring it using certified meteorology tools. Our young scientists will be building their own weather tools to take their knowledge of weather and measurements to the next level! They will be checking the weather daily using the thermometer and barometer and inputting their measurements into a weather journal. They'll be amazed to see how clouds form using the cloud apparatus. They'll use the prisms to understand how light, water vapor, and refraction create rainbows. While learning about different forms of extreme weather, students will be simulating tornados in a bottle and observing the mechanics of a volcano.
