Young Entrepreneurs at Mack

Help me give my students resources to create and develop sustainable businesses that benefit the community and our school. They must print business plans, presentations, executive summaries, logos, flyers, and business cards.

My Project

Many of my students want to create and own their a business. Several already do. Those who have not created a business plan and do not understand the economics of one unit (EOU), return on sales (ROS, or return on investment (ROI) principles of operating a business.

The activities in the course will allow students to create, plan, market, and run a business at the school site and in the community.

Students have the opportunity to choose a for-profit or non-profit business plan. Critical thinking and collaboration in the cycle of inquiry and SWOT Analysis steps are crucial for the success of their businesses. Both hard and soft skills are important in this process, and students will have many opportunities to put them into action.

One skill that always comes up is their uneasiness with math. This teaches them that math is an integral component of any business life, and that they must master it, once and for all.

My students are inventive and full of ideas that just need a structured and supportive outlet. I currently have students who have the following businesses: power washing, auto detailing, hair braiding, clothing designing, make-up services, body building, and barbering.

This printer will enable my students to create quality presentations, business cards, displays, logos, and products that they can use to grow and enhance their businesses for events on campus and in the community. It also means that they will be in charge of the process from beginning to end.
