My students need preserved frogs for dissection, disposable aprons and dissecting manual to facilitate active engagement in exploring the anatomical features of frog.
"Learning by doing" and is one of the educational philosophies in facilitating dynamic science classrooms and in making my kids college and career ready. My kids love to do hands-on activities and they are getting comfortable using GAFE and incorporating technology in learning. Likewise, availability of relevant consumable materials and technology is a concern.
My school is a Title I school where students are culturally diverse.
About 80% of the students commute from an outlying area of 112 square mile to the campus. School data shows that the percentage of students who receive free and reduced priced meals continues to increase each year. Due to the type of community we have, our school is eligible for federal funding for free lunch and transportation this academic school year. Despite the fact that most students are from low income high poverty status and community challenges, they show their love for learning and are excited to do relevant and interesting activities in the lab.
My Project
My students need preserved frogs for dissection, disposable aprons and dissecting manual to facilitate active engagement in exploring the anatomical features of frog. The supplies requested will help me provide a dynamic Biology Laboratory where students can explore the amazing frog's anatomy and explore the striking similarities and differences of frog and human . It will also a prelude for comparative anatomy lesson on human. It will facilitate fun in learning!
It will make a positive impact in learning Biology because students will be provided with hands on dissection activity that will facilitate active learning which will bridge the gap between theories and practice.
This hands on activity will rekindle the love for learning and enhance inquisitiveness among my kids in school. Indeed, Biology will rock their world!
