My students need high-quality young adult literature for a new YA Lit. class. I am raising funds for each novel I'd like to teach including this, the beautiful I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson.

My Students

Our school is known for being different and innovative. Next year we are planning on offering our first Young Adult Literature Genre Studies class.

The students who take this class will explore literature they love, that's made for them, and that focuses on real issues they face.

This group will be the pilot group that will be able to promote the class for years down the road.

My Project

Our school is starting our first young adult literature class, and we need new books! I would like to buy class sets of several books, including this book, I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. This book received the Printz Award for literary excellence in young adult literature for its artistic, multi-voiced approach to a story of grief, love, and acceptance.

Young Adult Literature has been shown to increase student literacy and social awareness, especially with at-risk students.

This particular book speaks to the importance and process of coping with emotions at any age and provides representation for LGBT voices. Help stock this new class with excellent literature like this! $10 buys a book for a student. Keep an eye out for future book fundraisers.
