My Students

I have a variety of students and learning levels in my classroom. "Don't worry about your difficulties in math, I can assure you that mine are far greater."-Albert Einstein. This relates to my project because by the end of the year I want my students feel successful in math.

My students have a wide range of academic needs in Math.

Some are significantly below grade level and others are advanced. We need to provide on-line math practice for challenge and remediation purposes. This practice will help meet the needs of my diverse learners. My students come form a variety of backgrounds. At our school, we have changed our focus to become more rigorous. Such rigor will help our students achieve the academics necessary to be successful on the SBAC assessment.

My Project

The resources provided by IXL Math and Language Arts will allow my students to engage in an independent learning environment during a centers program. My students will be able to practice and reinforce concepts on a daily basis. Students will chose concepts and assignments provided by IXL Math and Language Arts that are correlated with Common Core State Standards that will be addressed in class and on our SBAC assessment.

Donations to this project will improve the learner in my classroom.

The ritualistic style of mundane teaching will no longer be a force in my class. Rather, students will investigate math concepts on an individualistic basis and discuss with other students thus, cementing the concepts. Success in math means success in life.
