This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Children at the preschool age learn exclusively through play. Because of this it's imperative that each center in our classroom provide the students with opportunities to learn and explore.
While playing in the dramatic play center children have a chance to use their imaginations and role play with others.
This helps in language acquisition and social emotional development by exposing the children to different foods, appliances, and even culture differences (through their peers and adults).
In almost every home the kitchen table plays a major role, it is where families sit to eat, talk, laugh, and even cry! The same goes for the table in a dramatic play center. The children use this as the focal point to their role playing, by setting the table, serving the meals they made, and even using it as a counter in a grocery store!
