We gradually introduced the new items for the dramatic play area to the children. The first thing we put out was the mop and broom set. The children immediately began to sweep and mop the entire classroom. Many of them made the home to school connection of having the same mop or even a similar broom. Just these items alone changed how the children played and interacted in the area. While on child was pretending to give another a hair cut, another child grabbed a broom and began \"sweeping the hairs.\" \r\nNot only did these products bring excitement to the children it introduced more vocabulary and dialogue to the classroom. The children began sharing how the grown ups in there homes use these items.","fullyFundedDate":1724931217072,"projectUrl":"project/you-set-the-table-and-well-do-the-coo/8690828/","projectTitle":"You Set the Table, and We'll Do the Cooking!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rogers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8812040_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y254&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667411573446","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8812040"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_505","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":455,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.9,"schoolId":505,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 114 Luis Llorens Torres on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 114 Luis Llorens Torres","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-114-louis-llorens-torres/505"}
