My Project

My students are a great group of 5th graders with varying skill levels in reading generally and reading aloud specifically. Often, readers are nervous and feel intimidated when it comes to reading out loud.

This fantastic book series “You Read to Me, I’ll Read to You” provides such a fun way for students to get that oral fluency practice!

Students have a chance to work with a partner and read their corresponding parts —the parts even rhyme! These clever books feature some familiar stories and tales, others that are brand new. I love to see students enjoy and engage with what they read, while strengthening their skills at the same time!
