Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Wetting your pants at school is bad enough... but not having any clean clothes to change into is much worse!!
We are a lovable bunch of bilingual preschoolers with a ton of energy!
Our favorite book character is David from the 'No, David!' books. He is always getting into mischief! Not us, though. We are great kids with a lot to say. Many of us are learning English for the first time and others have special needs, but we all love being at school. Most of our families are from low income households and having extra clothes at school isn't really possible.
My Project
Sometimes, we get so engrossed in our learning, that we forget to go to the bathroom. Sometimes we move too quickly and spill our milk or water in our lap! It's no big deal, we're still learning, but it sure is uncomfortable wearing wet pants or having to wear a pair that's 3 sizes too big! Having a supply of extra preschool-sized clothes in the classroom would really help us continue our learning on the days we have accidents.
These clothes will help us develop a positive social-emotional foundation of being accepted by our peers.
We will also be learning healthy hygiene habits that will follow us into adulthood.
