This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When a student needs items to help them calm down, it's important to create a supportive and understanding environment. You can say things like, "It's okay if you need a break, let's use our calm-down corner," or "It's good that you're using the stress ball to help regulate your emotions. As teachers we focus on validating their feelings and acknowledging the need for self-regulation tools.

In order for students to be able to use the calm down safe space and recognize where it is, I am asking for the carpet with the feelings features.

The carpet will serve as the single most important identifying feature of the safe space. This along with the other items this project will provide can help students regroup and reenter the classroom area with confidence.
