This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My training to become a certified Yoga instructor and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) facilitator is a dream that I would like to make a reality. I believe that education is going through a transformation and SEL should be a frontrunner to reach and teach our students. Emotional intelligence needs to be a main focal point in our schools in order to reach our students who are growing up in a digital age. It is important that we teach students the value of empathy, compassion, and communication skills. I hope to instill these values to my students to help them throughout their life. I also plan on teaching co-workers SEL skills to use in their classroom. As a bonus to support staff in, I would like to offer free yoga classes to teachers in order to build community and help alleviate stress from our busy days. My hope is that I have reached you too, because it all starts with you.
