Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with an amazing group of pre-k students with special needs. My students have a wide range of disabilities and sensory needs. One of the things that we are missing is a place for our students to actively engage in sensory activities and learning. The use of a light table in our classroom will help students to focus on their learning and help them to better engage in academic tasks.

It is important for kids to have multiple ways of learning.

Students will be able to sort items using the trays on the light table. This will help them to develop their math skills and begin to identify colors and shapes. Student will also be able to practice their counting skills using items such as bugs and buttons on the light table.
