Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school has a very special group of students that include mine. It has a large population of English Language Learners as well as a very successful Dual Language program. We have over 400 hundred students with various backgrounds and ethnicities. Students come to school very happy everyday.
This school supports a collaborative place where reading, writing and word study have an everyday impact in the literacy lives of our young children!
Collaboration amongst colleagues is the biggest reward in student achievement.
My Project
We are living in a reflective, responsive teaching environment. Collaboration is the key. What a better way to generate team work than to display and show student growth on a large surface for reading and writing. A 202AM 4X12 MARKER BOARD will help spearhead this endeavor

Data walls generate "we are in it to win it" mentality in student literacy achievement. I want to help generate goals for my class to succeed in a literate life. Through the use of the data wall, I can specifically set goals for teaching my students in a literate life based on how well they do in comparison to their peers on the grade level. The board will help generate goals to which I need to set in order for my students to make grade level progress. It will help build community support amongst my peers on the grade level and together we can build lessons to support the future growth.
