Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from all nationalities and economic backgrounds. What makes them unique is that they attend a dual language school. It is a total immersion school where students learn a second language from pre-K through eighth grade.

Even though we are a Title I school, everyone shows empathy and open-mindedness.

Never has it been more important to find common ground, even if we are different on the outside. Our school helps us learn to work and play together. After all, this is what has made our country the greatest.

My Project

We will use these tablets to do independent reading, math and research. We use on-line teaching sites such as Khan Academy and Achieve 3000 to increase knowledge and proficiency.

Our textbooks are outdated and we are relying on web sites to get the most current information.

For example, science is always changing and we need to find the latest research information. When studying history, we need to find background information that is sometimes left out.

Literature is a very important focus in fourth grade. With tablets we can download books without leaving a large carbon footprint.

Technology is here to stay and with our tablets, we can take them with us.
