Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title 1 School. My students are smart, responsible, and eager to learn. What we do in class is often the only exposure they get as far as reading, studying, or lesson practice.
My students are always ready to try something new and challenging which I believe will help them in reaching their lifelong goals!
As teachers, we supply them with many of their daily classroom supplies which does not leave us extra money to spend on other things that would make our daily experiences even better.
My Project
These five seats and tables will be used every day in our classroom. They will provide comfortable seating and a way to get those "wiggles" out. I have seen the difference flexible seating options have made in other rooms. I also have students now who are unable to focus sitting in a spot that allows for no movement.
With this seating, our classroom will become more about student control and less teacher control which will help students focus more on learning.
Many flexible seating options stimulate students’ sense of touch. Flexible seating helps with sensory input. This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is also helpful for students with ADHD and ADD.
