My students are filled with happiness, energy, and character. These students are eager to learn, and love music class. We are located in a low-income community, and most of my students receive free or reduced lunch.
Though many of these kiddos come from a rough home, their spirit is not extinguished.
These students have had many music teachers in the past, and are in need of someone to take a chance on them; I have promised them to be that teacher.
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with these eager, spunky, and amazing students.
My Project
The Mahalo ukuleles will be used primarily in grades 5-8. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to utilize the knowledge that they have learning in grades K-4 and stretch themselves to become better musicians.
Ukulele allows students to not only become better instrumentalists, but also better singers.
There is an increasing interest in Ukulele music throughout America, and bringing this unique music style to the classroom will help keep the interest of my students alive.
Your donation will help expand our classroom set of ukulele. We have enough for about every other student in a class to play, but this project will allow ALL students to learn and be engaged at the same time.
