This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help me gift my students with a lifelong love of gardening and nature. This project is to provide my awesome 2nd graders with the opportunity to get their hand in the soil and to reap the benifits of hard work and love. My students love nature and have a fervent curiosity about the world around them. My students are the best kids with so much greatness ahead of them. These kids will change and shape our future. They deserve an opportunity to get a close hand on look at how plants are grown.This project includes a variety of organic seeds, soil, seed starter kit, watering cans, gardening tools and garden beds to allow my students to plant their own vegetable, herbs and flowers and nurture them throughout the year. I believe gardening teaches us so many lessons for life.

Gardening teaches us about patience, hard work, resilience, making mistakes and learning from them, problem solving skilss, and nature or science.

Not to mention, it teach them how to make their own food, question what they are putting in their bodies and curiosity for healthy nutritional eating habits. Please help me give these kids a chance to learn these lesoons through the fun of gardening!
