Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are about to begin the new school year like never before. This year we will get to know our students through zoom and pictures instead of in the classroom. For these first grade students it will affect them both socially and emotionally.

We will continue to embarked on the distance learning journey with the rest of the country all while ensuring every child is both socially and emotionally prepared!

We are planing to actively engage the students in all sorts of different online platforms as they continue learning new things. I will constantly be checking in on them to ensure they are emotionally well through these tough times. My students and I will participate in Zoom meetings to check in with each other and go over the standards being taught. We have will conduct read louds, simon says, show and tell, demonstrat our weekly projects, draw with me and scavenger hunts. In order to help with them adjusting socially and emotionally to the new norm. We are a community of learners and work together for the best of every student.

My Project

These Materials will enable my students to make the most of their in classroom or remote learning when school begins. By providing the same materials to all of my students would allow me to share activities that they all would be able to complete. This will help the students that are learning from home feel socially and emotionally connected to our classroom from a distance.

Lessons for First grade both in the classroom and remotely is best when it is engaging and hands on.

Due to remote learning with these resouces students will be able to have the same learning experiences and complete the same activities that they would be able to complete in the classroom. Students in the classroom will be able to socially interact with their peers at home. The pencil sharpeners, playdoh, water bottles, markers, dice and erasers will allow students the chance to follow along and stay engaged. The dice will allow students to play in fun math games and math addition and subtraction equations. The markers will allow them to write their answers and show it to me virtually. The play doh will be used to practice fractions and vocabulary practice. The paint will be used to create patterns and art. The sharpeners will be used to keep all their pencils sharpened and ready for assignments. The water bottles will be used to keep them hidrated. These materials will make a difference in my students learning experience both at home and at school.
