Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 3rd grade students come from a variety of economic and ethnic backgrounds. My students are very motivated to learn and they have GRIT. They give it their all, redo things as necessary, ignore giving up and take time to do it right. They make mistakes and they don't believe anything is impossible. They stay focused and are determined to do better.

These children are growing up in the new generation where technology will be in every aspect of their life.

They use a many programs on the their own chrome book. They have learned to be responsible in using and managing a variety of technical items such as : chrome books, ipads, DASH and DOT robots. Many of them are working above their grade level. They aspire to learn and be successful.

My Project

Give these students a comfortable and fun classroom library. This corner will belong to the children and books will be easily accessible to them. They will be more engaged with their literature choice when they are able to relax in a quiet, comfy area. The luxurious rug and soft pillows will be used by the students as they read to make their goals and increase their ability to read.

It is important to make an area visually and physically pleasing to children, in order to instill a desire to read.

Students need an environment where reading is highly valued in order to develop and grow. A GREAT classroom library tells my students that independent reading is treasured and encouraged.
