My Project

This project will help me build a math center with hands-on, independent-use manipulatives to motivate student engagement in mathematical thinking. The small-group math activity cart is just what we need to get these centers started. It is stocked with so many different manipulatives to reinforce math skills for our kindergarteners.

This math project is Inspired by universal design principles and developmentally-appropriate practice!

Giving students modality choice through diverse materials and learning opportunities is important for motivating learning in early childhood. Independent-use and self-correcting resources allow for more learner-directed experiences and foster the development of a positive orientation towards learning. Math skill development is particularly important in early childhood as math skill is a strong predictor of academic achievement across areas.
