This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello everyone my name is Rosemarie Melendrez-Cabral, I am a first year teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District. I work with Preschool aged children ages 3-5 that have been identified as having special needs. Our class is called the Preschool Comprehensive Program aka PSC.
My students come from the unserved and or underserved population of the city of Los Angeles.
In response to the lack of resources. I am making it my mission to provide my students with the best education possible. I will do this by providing the safe, secure, and nurturing environment that my students require. To accomplish this I need your help. I receive a limited amount of supplies from the District. However I do not get a budget to purchase supplies. As all teachers, I have utilized much of my own funds to meet the needs of my students. But with your help we can do so much more. These items will help our PSC students learn through hands-on experiences, all while guiding them to learn through play. Increasing their ready to learn skills in the areas of language, math, social and emotional development, functional play, amongst many more.
My goal is to use these resources to make our students learning fun and engaging. We can accomplish this by using developmentally appropriate materials that they love and are safe. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of our story. PLEASE SHARE!!!!😊
