This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Title I STEAM and Social Justice magnet emphasizes the respect of self and others. Our pedagogy includes discipline and high expectations, as well as activism and compassion. Our African-American students share the school with Latino and Asian kids. This mix offers unlimited opportunities to learn tolerance and teamwork while discovering new perspectives.

Students are not only trained to solve problems but also to focus how their solutions affect the environment and all members of society, here and abroad.

However, our school and our families can't afford the additional resources we need to support independent learning and significantly improve student achievement. Thank you for helping our kids become successful, responsible, and productive citizens!

My Project

Your generous contribution would definitely impact my students for years to come. The thirteen yoga mats will enable my fourth graders to practice mindfulness and relaxation, two skills crucially needed right now.

Thanks to you, students will be able to calm their mind, practice focusing, and learn about equilibrium.

As weeks pass by, these skills will transfer into their daily life and the classroom. It will feel easier to learn, to remain organized, and to deal with every day challenges. Students will love sharing a mat and sit in a lotus pose, eyes closed, to find their happy place!
