It has become a special part of our morning routine and gives students an opportunity to practice these skills while also building confidence and leadership.\r\n\r\nThe birthday crowns and certificates have also been a big hit! They love being celebrated, and they get so excited when it is their special day. Being able to give students a birthday crown and certificate makes them feel noticed and valued by their classmates. These small celebrations have helped create a classroom community where students feel special, supported, and appreciated. The new headphones have also made a huge difference because students no longer have to use broken earbuds during independent learning activities. They now have working headphones that make it easier for them to focus and complete their digital learning activities. Having a variety of appealing rewards made the Student Store feel like something worth working toward and gave students an extra sense of pride when they earned their rewards.\r\n\r\nWe use these items as incentives for students who demonstrate positive attendance habits. Students can earn Show Up Bucks for perfect weekly attendance and then use their earnings to shop in the Student Store. This has helped turn attendance into something students can actively participate in and feel proud of, rather than simply a number tracked by adults. The store also gives us an opportunity to celebrate students and reinforce the message that showing up to school every day matters.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been incredible. Since implementing our attendance incentive program and Student Store, our chronic absenteeism rate decreased from 19% to just 9%. Seeing students excited to come to school, earn their Show Up Bucks, and choose rewards from the store has been incredibly rewarding.
