This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I do mindfulness and meditation with my students as part of my curriculum. This means the students are frequently laying down on the floor of the classroom. Right now, we work on a hard carpeted surface that people are constantly walking on with their shoes on. For sanitary purposes, I would love to get my students yoga mats so they can do the yoga work on a clean surface,rather than needing to risk laying in the same spot that someone has stepped, or dropped food, or pencil shavings, or spilled drinks.
