Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school serves around seven hundred students, all of whom take part in our physical education program. Our students are bright, bubbly and in need of a challenge. We are looking to challenge our students by putting them in control of their health.

We service students who come from all different backgrounds, speak many languages (including some from the World Relief Program) and students who come from low-income areas.

In terms of fitness, however, we all speak and understand the same language; elevate your heart rate for physical health and brain health!

My Project

With limited activities available for us to do because of COVID, my PE department and I are looking for new ways to engage our students in activity.

Yoga is an excellent way for us to social distance in class, while working on our mental and physical health.

These yoga mats will enable our students to explore a whole new exercise category.

Yoga is a lifelong activity and skill I hope to teach my students about. Our students crave activity and emotional support during this time and I truly believe yoga is one way to do that!
