Adding heart rate monitor straps will allow our students to use the heart rate monitors more often. We will be able to maximize the number of times the monitors get used each day, thus allowing more students to focus on how exercise increases their heart rate. This technology tool will allow the students to monitor their heart rate during activity and recognize when they are exercising within their target heart rate zones for health enhancing levels. Our heart rate monitor straps must be washed between uses, which is why we need more straps to maximize student use. We want our students to make the connection between increased heart rate and increased health benefits. Using this tool will also enable our students to take learning into their own hands and to become more accountable for their fitness levels.
