My students need YogaKids DVDs, yoga mats, and Body Poetry yoga cards to help them develop body awareness and gross motor skills.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class in a small, PreK-8th grade, rural school in California. In our primary grades, TK through 3, we have about 240 students. My young students are excited to learn and do EVERYTHING!
We are a high poverty, Title I school, with many of our children qualifying for free or reduced price lunch.
We try to provide as many opportunities as possible for students to experience new and unique activities in a safe and comfortable environment.
Some of the most important abilities we focus on in a TK classroom are body awareness, coordination, balance, and gross motor skills.
Yoga provides 5 key benefits for kids.
It enhances physical flexibility. It refines balance and coordination. It develops focus and concentration. It boosts self-esteem and confidence. And it strengthens the mind-body connection.
Yoga mats will give students their own space to work, the Body Poetry cards will help them to learn the proper way to create certain poses, and the YogaKids DVDs will guide them through the proper techniques of moving and stretching so they will not get hurt.
