I need to deepen my yoga practice to be more useful to students. Once I take this online course, I will be able to assist students in "getting out the wiggles."

My Students

I teach students who have been identified as academically gifted in a small school in northern New Mexico. The students are academically gifted across all subject areas, and are in my room 3 hours week. In order to work with me, students must take a test with a diagnostician and qualify in IQ and at least one subject area. These students often have social-emotional needs that are overlooked. Doing yoga stretches with me will be very helpful in allowing them to shine!

My Project

I would like to take this 7 module online course to be a better teacher for my students.

If you choose to sponsor my project, I will be able to help students settle into class and better focus on their advanced academic learning.

When students enter my room, I will be able to give them mindfulness and stretching, which allows them to release tension and worry and focus on the present moment.

When they can be here now, higher order thinking skills can be utilized. Mindfulness and stretching do not interfere with any religion, as it is a philosophy. Thank you!
