Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My leadership class and I are starting our school's very first news channel to inform our student body of the daily news, updates, and student celebrations. We can use the iPad, lighting, and the app iMovie to create engaging videos.

Leadership student standards include public speaking skills, teamwork, organizing teams, and project management and production.

Yuba Gardens School is considered Title I, where many of the students are challenged with financial or social/emotional hardships.

This project will allow my students to demonstrate their talents and encourage their peers through digital art. We hope, as a class, to incorporate teachers, staff, and students in our school news channel. We want to highlight the success and unique experiences of the student body. Through this project, I want to expose my Leadership students to new skills and interests encouraging them to expand their educational horizons.
