My Students

Willing readers are drawn to the classics of childhood!

These second graders are "fighting" for their turn to read our one copy of "Green Eggs and Ham".

Our school is on the south side of Chicago where school and learning are a welcome diversions from neighborhood troubles.

These little ones really want books in their hands that they are able to read. My students work hard and they are eager to learn. Most of these children have been without a book for a year and a half.

Please help us with predictable, easy to read Dr. Seuss books as well some other easy to read titles.

My Project

I am requesting predictable readers from the Dr Seuss canon as well as some from the Fly Guy series. So many students behind in their reading due to COVID and a year and a half of remote learning. They need predictable, comfortable text which will build confidence in reading. The three Dr. Seuss books in our class are in such demand and tattered. This is an emergent reader SOS! Thank You!!

We will be reading these book EVERY DAY--practicing our fluency and building our confidence.
