Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

As a health teacher, I see all 9th graders at our school. The health class is required to graduate. The information acquired in health is vital; they learn about STD's, pregnancy, nutrition, drugs, esteem, disorders, etc. Our high school serves inner-city students that desperately need this type of education. Every semester, I serve 150 fourteen year-olds.

We lack a VHS/DVD player in our class. Our statistics have shown that our students benefit from visual representation of topics (many of them were ESL students). We have many videos that we would like to show, but lack the material.

We desperately need this DVD/VHS Combo Player. There are so many documentaries on health topics that we cannot show because we lack the player.

Purchasing this piece of equipment would allow the students to observe others in their situations. And, they can then learn how to make better decisions on their health.
