Help me give my students the opportunity to explore the wizarding world of Harry Potter through thematic learning!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Gabby's classroom raised $570

My Students
We are speech-language pathologists in a special education middle-high school, working with students with multiple disabilities, including moderate to severe expressive and receptive language disabilities.
Our students are curious, hardworking, fun-loving, and inspire us every day!
They are primarily nonverbal, but they come to school eager to communicate! We incorporate learning and communicating in a variety of settings including the classroom, vocational settings, and the community.
Our students love to socialize with teachers, staff, peers, and community workers. Donors Choose recently helped us fund an iPad to use as an AAC device, and now we need your help to fund our thematic lesson for the 2021-2022 school year!
My Project
Most of our students are gathering for in-person learning for the first time in over a year. Throughout our remote learning experience, we saw how thematic learning can strike up fun and exciting conversations among peers. The 811Q Speech Department (Ms. Allison, Ms. Lisa, Ms. Nicole, Ms. Meagan, Ms. Michelle, and Ms. Gabby), is excited to continue our thematic learning adventures in the wizarding world of Harry Potter!
Our middle and high school students, with various impairments and disabilities, will be so excited to engage and explore with one another in this age-appropriate book series, learning about friendship, bravery, and how fun our imagination can be.
With your help and contribution, we will be able to provide each of our students with a Harry Potter book (illustrated or non-illustrated depending on their needs), differentiated learning materials, visuals for multi-modality learning, and adaptive learning materials to make this book series come to life right before their eyes.
