My Students
My students are 6th, 7th, and 8th grade computer/technology and video production learners. They are highly motivated to learn and keep up with the new technology, coding, hardware, electronics, and robotics. They are a diverse group of cultures, genders, learning styles, and motivations for learning. This elective class set supports the ISTE, CTE and CCSS standards for learning in middle school. My students are hands-on learners. They want to learn about electronics, computers, technology, and anything that they can make do what they want it to do.
My Project
Students want to show off their work, but when it is on a computer that is hard, we don't often walk around with our screen on our shirts. This project will allow students to show off their work. "Yep, I Made It!" includes the heat transfer vinyl, heat press, and cutting mat for a creation station where students can take a new design cut it with a vinyl cutter then put it on a shirt, bag, jacket or other fabric to show off their design skills.
Personalization has never been so fun.
Allowing students to create and then show off their learning for a real audience increases attention to detail, retention of concepts through conversation, and enthusiasm for their learning.
