I want to first thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your potential donation! I have 47 incredible 8th students who are full of potential and have endless amounts of talent that needs to be unlocked. For many of them, school was a safe place where they had the materials needed to learn as well as 2 meals a day and a place to socialize and play with friends.
"You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives." -Clay P.
We are a urban Pre K - 8th grade Elementary School. We are located on a peninsula right outside of New York City. Our students are hard working and community oriented. They love the city they grew up in.
My students have entered into their last year of Elementary School in a Title I school in northeast New Jersey.
This project is all about leaving a positive mark during distance learning.
Now that we are no longer able to continue our teachings face-to-face I want to make sure our children don't lose what they have worked so hard on.
These materials will help our students remain positive and help strengthen their Social and Emotional skills. My students are trying their best to continue working during these challenging times. Remaining positive can be difficult for young minds especially when so much of what you had looked forward to is lost.
Our 8th graders have worked so hard to create a yearbook that they will cherish for years to come. However due to Covid-19 these materials seem out of reach for many of our families. Your donation will help us ensure that each of our 8th grade students will receive a book at no cost to their struggling family.
