My Project

YEARBOOKS ARE LOVE LETTERS THAT SCHOOLS WRITE TO THEMSELVES!

Our school's yearbooks have been underfunded, under-equipped, and underwhelming through no fault of the students!

This year, I am working hard to change that pattern. To begin with, we need the ability to take better photos of our school events. This year, students used their cell phones and one camera the same as the one being requested, to capture campus-wide and sporting events, but that proved quite difficult. Cell phones take great photos, but not when the subjects are in super-fast motion! Needless to say, our action shots are more like swirly blurs of light. We did make some headway with the T7, thankfully, but there are 2500 students at this school, 55 in Yearbook...and one camera!

One camera can make all the difference for next year's book!

This camera has the ability to adjust the shutter speed to snap those super-fast moments, and it can zoom in without looking grainy and faded!

Our school has 2600 students, a robust sports program, and a ton of very involved clubs on campus. Students deserve high-quality memories to look at down the road! I don't know about you, but I still have my high school yearbooks, and I love looking back on them. They capture the moments, the eras, the styles, the cars, the lingo, the trends, and the current events so perfectly. I would like our students to have that same feeling when they crack open their yearbook years from now.
