Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are wonderful, inquisitive learners. They strive to be the best and achieve the most. Our students come to school with a positive attitude and enjoy learning and helping one another. At our school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and nearly all our students come from low-income households.

We want to help our students become more culturally aware of our differences and similarities by celebrating different holidays throughout the year.

Every year, we walk through different classrooms with our lion dance to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This year, we would love to dress in our zodiac t-shirts to continue the traditions with our Asian classmates. We want to include all third-grade classes in the celebration. We will learn about the different zodiac animals. We will use the heat press and vinyl to make red t-shirts with the Year of the Snake on them. We will wear them on Lunar New Year's Day and wish everyone a "Prosperous Lunar New Year."
