This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Gung Hay Fat Choy means Happy Lunar New Year! This is the year of the Dragon and it will be celebrated in our classroom as we do every year.

Lunar New Year is celebrated yearly at our school because we have many students who are of Asian descent.

We celebrate and value all cultures and a highlight is the Lunar New Year!

We would like to decorate our classroom door with a Lunar New Year banner. We also learn about Early Asian Civilization where students learn about Buddhism, Hinduism, Diwali, and Confucianism. I included books on Diwali to supplement the lessons we use. I have also included sets of novels.
