This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With new science standards going into effect next school year, my school decided to implement some of them this year in order to determine what works and what we can improve on. Each day, my students are making observations and recording these observations. Often, we go outside to make these observations, especially now during this particular unit on energy, sunlight, and weather. The materials I have requested, the clipboards, whiteboards, and dry erase markers, will most definitely aid the students in these outside (and inside) observations. The students will be able to use the clipboards outside to keep their papers from blowing away, and they'll be able to use the whiteboards inside as they continue to make and share observations. Additionally, the whiteboards will be used during our small group reading instruction time. So, the donation of these small dry erase boards will serve two purposes. The students use these whiteboards daily, hence the need for the markers as well.
My school is a Title 1 school with the majority of our students coming from low-income families.
The donations of these items will be extremely beneficial since these are not basic school supplies we request Kindergarten students to bring at the beginning of the school year.
