I am seeking classroom support for a series of tools that will assure students can focus on scholarly learning by regulating indoor volume.
My goals for this project include an external tool that decenters the teacher as authoritarian with volume control. My goal is to have a tool that students can visually reference when their volume reaches level that are destructive to classroom learning. My additional goal for this project is to have a small set of noise canceling headphones for students that may have noise sensitivities to encourage them to stay in the classroom space.
What makes my students special is that they truly have tons of positive energy. With these tools, I am hoping we can redirect their energy in ways that can make them even better than what they already are.
